It all started at Iasi ::

The first botanical gardens in Romania was founded in Iasi in 1856 by the doctor and naturalist Anastasie Fatu. Its today’s surface is about 100 hectares and contains 2000 species of trees and bushes. It is the biggest botanical gardens in Romania and one of the biggest in Europe.
