George Orwell’s novel was written in 1948 and published a year later; from its publication to the present, it has been considered one of the most influential writings, being, until recently, on the list of the hundred best novels in the English language.
Set in a dystopian future, but so current, the action of 1984 takes place in the post-atomic era, in a totalitarian state controlled by “Big Brother”, where the intellectual Winston Smith, an official in a department of the Ministry Indeed, he falls in love, rebels, and finally surrenders under torture.
