The Romanian National Opera in Iași presents the first premiere of the year, the opera “Il trovatore” by Giuseppe Verdi, which can be seen in a double performance on March 25 and 26.
Verdi’s creation “The Troubadour”, the second work of the “popular trilogy”, is a drama in four acts to a libretto by Salvatore Cammarano, written after the tragedy “El trovator” by Antonio Garcia Gutiérrez.
The direction, costumes and lights of the show are made by Matteo Mazzoni, the set is created by Giacomo Calliari, and Luca Attilii is responsible for the video design.
Guest soloists perform alongside the soloists, choir, ballet and orchestra of the Iași Opera, led from the conductor’s desk by the baton of maestro David Crescenzi.
