The only theater festival in Romania with this profile, the only international performing arts festival in the eastern half of Romania will take place between October 4 – 10, 2023, in Iasi.
Ever since its first edition (2008), the Iași International Theater Festival for Young Audiences (FITPTI) has had a theme every year. The curatorial idea was to individualize the event on each of its calendar sequences, to keep it fresh and surprising. The festival organized by the Luceafărul Theater in Iaşi managed to impose itself on the attention of the community, both nationally and internationally, bringing together in the program very diverse forms of scenic art, made by creators from all over the world (America of North, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand), many of them in Romania for the first time, exclusively in Iasi. These were the arguments that convinced the evaluation team made up of international experts by the European Association of Festivals based in Brussels to award the Iași meeting the “Outstanding Festival” label, eight times in a row.
